After leaving the Desert View overlook, we exited the Grand Canyon National Park at the east entrance, then continued east to US 89. Then we drove south to the Wupatki National Monument and Sunset Crater Volcano. These two parks, which are a few miles north of Flagstaff, have a connecting road and one admission price. We visited these parks on a weekday, so it was rather lonely and desolate. We drove for quite a few miles before we saw another car.
